It’s hard to believe how quickly time goes by! We are currently making plans for our THIRD annual #OilersRigLive4MS event!
This season’s fundraiser is slated for February 26, 2016 at On the Rocks. This event gets bigger and better every year and our plan is to blow our previous fundraising tallies out of the water.
As you may or may not be aware, The MS Society is a charity that is near and dear to us at the Oilers Rig as we have not one, but two members of our crew who are battling this disease themselves.
The MS Society of Alberta ensures that no one faces Multiple Sclerosis alone. In communities across the province and the NWT, volunteers and staff provide information, support, educational events and other resources for people with MS and their families and work to change government practices.
This work – and that of MS Society funded researchers – is supported by donors, event participants, corporate sponsors, volunteers and staff from coast-to-coast.
We are proud to say that we’re a part of the group that helps support this wonderful cause.
SO! Let’s get to the event itself! First and foremost…all proceeds from ticket sales, the silent auction and raffles are 100% donated to the MS Society. The event starts at 6pm at On The Rocks on Jasper Avenue and essentially goes until we get kicked out! The Oilers face the Ducks in Anaheim at 8pm and the game will be on live and available for your viewing pleasure (or pain). We hope to have as many people as possible at the event so that we can collectively cheer together, cry together…talk hockey and raise some well deserved money for the MS Society of Alberta!
The Silent Auction:
We will have plenty of autographed and authentic Oilers memorabilia up for bid at the silent auction, as well as some other autographed sports memorabilia from other sports teams including the Edmonton Eskimos, the Toronto Blue Jays and likely some other NHL related items.

We also raffled off an autographed Jordan Eberle, Team Canada jersey…and that was just the tip of the iceberg!
We will also have Oilers game tickets, donated items such as liquor baskets, jewelry and anything else we can get our hands on!
Other Festivities:
In addition to the silent auction, we also plan to have trivia and prizes as well as a photo booth on site so you can remember the night you’ll likely forget due to alcohol consumption. The crew from the Oilers Rig will be on hand, as well as various other members of the blogging community and potentially some special guests!
