If you watched this game, you don’t need me to tell you about it. If you missed it because of the late start, well…
Let’s just say you didn’t miss much (unless you like watching bad reffing or you’re a Kings fan). I took a bunch of notes for the game tonight. Three periods worth. But you aren’t missing much and I just found out that a dear friend of mine lost her father to cancer tonight, so I’m leaving this to Megan to put together.
1st PERIOD:
-Kings get the 1st chance of the game. Toffoli falls directly on Gustavsson’s head. Panic moment!
-Oilers follow up with a chance of their own but Kassian can’t bury it
-McDavid turns the entire LA squad inside out 3 minutes in. Gets hooked 100 times but no call
-Derek Forbot scores through traffic from the point. Gustavsson no chance on the shot (14:51). Oilers give up the 1st AGAIN:

-Oilers take a delayed penalty directly after the goal (Andrej Sekera for hooking). Justified call, I guess, but really?

-Oilers getting killed early. McDavid comes out the other way and gets hooked again

3rd PERIOD:
-LA aggressive as they start the period with the man advantage, but the Oilers kill it off
-Carter gets another 2 on 1 off a bad change by Eberle but can’t bury it
-Oilers played a much more physical 3rd
-Kings doing a great job of limiting the oilers to the outside in LA’s zone
-Nuge and ebs get a 2 on 1 with 10:45 left to play but Muzzin breaks up the pass to Eberle
-Lucic and McDavid generating good chances with 8 minutes left. What’s up with bad goalies looking good against the Oilers?
-LA scores after Gustavsson comes out of his net and leaves Devin Settoguci to all alone to pot the rebound (6:45 left) 4-2 kings
Final Oilers Thoughts:
-The officiating was absolutely awful through the entire game. I can’t count how many times I saw McDavid hooked, held, interfered with, etc.
-The Oilers are on a very bad slide and this is the team you all should have expected.

Please take a moment to donate to cancer research if you are looking for a charity. I’m going to help my friend and her brother clean out their father’s place tomorrow. If we spent half as much money on the poor and cancer research as we do on war or politics, he might still be here today.
I apologize for mailing this one in, but I’m quite distraught and someone picked up the last late post game blog that I had offered to do. I need to speak with my friend and find out if they need help with the funeral costs at this point. I’ll be starting a gofundme drive for them, if so.
