Anton Lander has injected some fire back into the Condor’s offense while the goaltending continues to stay strong.
Dillon Simpson and Mark Fayne have been called up to the Oilers since the last time we checked on the group. Kris Newbury was released from his contract after the Condors brought Anton Lander back.

GOOD ARROWS
-Laurent Brossoit had back to back shutouts over the week against the division leading Tuscon Roadrunners and the Charlotte Checkers. Brossoit is starting to get more and more starts and that’s important for him. The next step for Brossoit is the permanent move to the NHL. With numbers like his has so far this season, it’s likely that happens next year.
-Anton Lander is one of those special cases. Dominant in the AHL/Invisible in the NHL. Lander has once again found his offensive game in the AHL, but he never seems to be able to carry it to the NHL. Still, he provides the team with a bonafide first line centre option at this level.
-Griffin Reinhart is more of a forgotten man lately with the emergence of Darnell Nurse and Matt Benning in the big leagues, but it’s encouraging that Reinhart returns from injury to play on the first pairing with an offensive defenseman and the club shuts down both opponents. Trust me, Reinhart played a part.
-Taylor Beck continues to produce well and was recently named the AHL’s player of the month for November. Check back later to see a more in depth look at Taylor Beck.
-Jujhar Khaira also got off the injury train and got back into the lineup, being his usual productive self. He’s an option for a call-up.
BAD ARROWS
-Injuries. Jordan Oesterle continues to miss crucial developmental games with an undisclosed injury. He has only played six games this year and now he’s stuck behind Benning, Simpson and Reinhart on the depth chart. Might be the new Taylor Fedun.
-Sophomore slumps. Kyle Platzer and Braden Christoffer have not taken the step the Oilers hoped they would take, and the Oilers need to be concerned they aren’t getting enough out of their own draft picks.
-Mitch Moroz was a healthy scratch over the past week, and that’s not a good sign considering AHL contract-only players such as Josh Currie, Scott Allen and Joey Benik are seeing the ice instead.
-Patrick Russell is looking like a bust for a college signing. Russell only has three assists through 17 games, and he may be one of the odd swing and a misses in the Oilers college recruitment program.
