Poll Question: What are your thoughts on (poor) Tyler Pitlick?

The 2010 NHL Entry Draft will always be a memorable one for fans of the Edmonton Oilers. It was supposed to be the start of a proper rebuild featuring a cornerstone piece in Taylor Hall. Some commentators were even hinting that, besides Hall, the 2010 draft could be, “off the charts,” and produce numerous NHL players. At the time players like Martin Marinicin, Curtis Hamilton, and Ryan Martindale appeared to be players who had a chance to have an impact in the NHL. Leading this group was Tyler Pitlick who was the first pick of the second round (31st overall). The 2010 draft, like Pitlick’s career, hasn’t unfolded the way some predicted and Hall is now in New Jersey, Marincin is in Toronto, and players like Hamilton and Martindale never solidified themselves as real prospects. Current Oiler Brandon Davidson, who the Oilers drafted at #162, is the one player left from the 2010 draft who looks like he will still have an impact. That was until Tyler Pitlick got off to a hot start this season and managed to get himself into a tie for fourth on the team in goals (8) playing bottom line minutes. It finally looked like he had put the injury bug behind him and that he could join Davidson from the 2010 draft and take a spot on the roster. That was until Monday night when Pitlick was lost to yet another injury.
