Today at Sportsnet.ca Mark Spector posted, “Mid-season report card: Edmonton Oilers.” He gave an, “A,” rating to Adam Larsson. The trade for the Swedish defenceman is a defining, albeit controversial, moment for Edmonton’s general manager Peter Chiarelli. Some fans can’t objectively look at Larsson because of the acquisition cost of Taylor Hall. However, if you are a fan who can objectively critique the performance of Larsson, while putting aside the trade, how would you rate the shutdown defender 45 games into his career with the Edmonton Oilers?
Mark Spector had this to say about Larsson:
OK, an ‘A’ might be high, but Larsson’s brand of physical, steady, puck-moving defence has been absent for so long here in Edmonton, it’s no coincidence that some success has followed his arrival. He’s better than you think.
