The 2016 Oilers Rig Blogger Awards

With the NHL Awards fast approaching, we have decided to hold our own blogger awards competition.

There are a bunch of great Oilers blogs out there, and all of us here at the Rig are happy to be part of this great community. It’s that time of year where we all get a little bit punchy (trade rumours and potential free agent signings are the cause of the most consternation around Oilers Twitter right about now), so we thought we’d lighten things up a bit.

We’re asking you, our esteemed readers, to help us out with this little project. We know you all read (and write at) other Oilers blogs, so we’re pretty sure you’ve got what it takes to make fair, balanced decisions about :

• The Corsi Award – greatest quantity of posts, regardless of quality
• Most Influential Blog Series – a series of posts that changes the way we think about a subject
• Please Come Back Award – the blogger we most miss from around the Oilogosphere
• Blind Love Award – the blogger who has undying (and perhaps unreasonable) love for a current or former Oiler
• Anger Management Award – the blogger who gets unnecessarily angry at a specific target
• Tyler Dellow Memorial Award – the blogger we think will get hired by an NHL team next
• The Unicorn Award – most vocal in support of the Oilers dressing three scoring lines
• The Slide Rule Award – the blogger who best utilizes fancy stats (while still watching the games)
• Rookie Blogger of the Year – the best new blogger around the Oilogosphere
• Most Respected Blogger – the blogger who, regardless of what he writes, has earned the respect of his readers

We don’t have any prizes (or trophies), but we hope that the winners of the awards can brag to at least one person about their win!
