A completely Lockout-free report on your Ravens…

Hey, let’s pretend for a moment that the NFL owners’ lockout never happened! Here’s what you’d be reading today:

1. Josh Wilson (Ravens safety) accepted the Ed Block Courage Award on behalf of the nominee, Donte Stallworth, at the recent gala at Martin’s West…Stallworth was absent due to illness.

2. The Charm City Heroes event, a 2-day signing and collectible show, will be held April 22-23 at the Hilton Hotel in Pikesville, MD, and you can greet and meet with Ravens superstars Joe Flacco, Ray Lewis and Michael Oher

3. The updated Mock Draft for the Ravens is as follows:
First Round—Outside Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan, 6-4, 267, 4.7 ’40….Purdue…
Second Round—Middle Linebacker Martez Wilson, 6-4, 250, 4.5 ’40…Illinois…
Third Round—Wide Receiver Greg Little, 6-2, 230, 4.6 ’40… North Carolina.

4. Count Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti among those who believe in Joe Flacco as Baltimore’s franchise quarterback. Speaking Monday at the NFL Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Bisciotti told The Baltimore Sun on Monday that he envisions a new contract for Flacco before his current deal expires following the 2012 season.

5.  Baltimore Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth didn’t play one down of football in 2010 because he suffered a season-ending knee injury one day before the start of training camp last August. But head coach John Harbaugh is on record as saying Foxworth is ready to play right out of the box in the scheduled upcoming season.

6.  Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also told fans Wednesday night that he’s unsure about the future of his veteran wideouts T.J. Housh and Donte Stallworth, that the team needs a blocking fullback, and that safety Ed Reed is far from retirement.

7.  Ravens wide receiver Derrick Mason doesn’t plan to retire despite the possibility of a lockout next season, he told WBAL-AM…

8.  Fighting for the second time as a pro, Baltimore Ravens Safety Tommy Zbikowski barely broke a sweat Saturday night in stopping Richard Bryant at 1:45 of the first round of a scheduled four-round fight on the undercard of the Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga 154-pound title fight in Vegas…

9.  Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain said from the start he never intended to injure his opponent. The Baltimore Sun on Monday cited a league source in reporting that McClain’s $40,000 fine for a Dec. 5 helmet hit on Steelers tight end Heath Miller was cut in half last week following his appeal to the league.

10. John Harbaugh has already circled one game on next year’s schedule in red ink: the brother-against-brother battle with Jim Harbaugh’s San Francisco 49ers.  It is believed this is the first time in NFL history that two brothers have been pitted against each other as opposing coaches in the NFL.

Yep, that’s the kind of innocent reporting you lose in a work stoppage environment…probably ten little tidbits like that a day…

You also lose the yearning for cool little advertising plugs like these:

Hey, maybe it’s just me, but until I know this 2011 season is really going to happen, I’m probably going to stick with my old pre-lockout gear…

Until then, I’ll dream of the good old days, when press releases like those listed above were the kind of offseason non-news you could count on!
