Hey, remember back in the day when I said:
“Or, Harris could sign with the Mets and spend all of 2011 on the disabled list. At least he couldn’t hurt them there.”
So what happens? That’s right, Willie Harris gets signed by the New York Mets to a minor league deal. All these reporters and inside sources that follow the Mets, and they couldn’t beat the greatest inside sources of all:
The demented voices in my head.
Way to go Sandy, you’ve used the old saying to your advantage: If they beat you, entice them to join you with a minor league deal. Let him go to Buffalo and rob Buck Coats of game winning home runs this season, I don’t care. The bottom line is that Harris isn’t going to be hurting the Mets with stellar play except in those intrasquad games at one of the back fields in Port St. Lucie. If he hurts the Mets, he’ll do it the old fashioned way: gain 30 pounds and/or start fights in the family room.
Speaking of which, Harris and Frankie in the same room should be a lot of fun.
