It appears that the Oilers aren’t quite finished with roster moves ahead of the season opener on October 12.
This morning, BarstoolChief tweeted that the much maligned Nail Yakupov may be on the move, with Chicago a possible destination.
Hearing that the Blackhawks are making a deal for Yakupov per sources. Not sure who is going back to Edmonton or if money is being retained

He then clarified that he isn’t sure who the Oilers might get in return, but that the deal has some merit.
Obviously this Yakupov to CHI now has real traction. I still dont have word on who will be going back to EDM, but will report once I get it

With no confirmation as yet, we can only speculate about a potential return for the 2012 first overall pick. Bob McKenzie weighed in, saying that while he knows that the Oilers and Blackhawks have spoken, he doesn’t see a deal being completed right away.
…but there is no imminent deal. CHI, at this moment, still looking at their kids to fill holes, but maybe that changes at some point.

One of the stumbling blocks to a deal is, of course, money.
EDM would obviously need to take back salary in a Yakupov deal with CHI and while Bowman-Chiarelli did talk Yak trade, nothing too recent.
