Happy Thanksgiving! I have many things to be thankful for. How about you? University of North Dakota fans are thankful that junior goalie Cam Johnson has returned to form. He’s back.
Johnson, the Troy, Michigan native, loves playing against teams from the state of Michigan. Entering this weekend’s series against Michigan State, Johnson has a 7-0-0 record in nine career appearances against schools from the state of Michigan, with a 1.85 GAA and .936 save percentage. Eight of those nine starts came during the 2015-16 season. Johnson went 7-0 with a 1.53 GAA and .947 save percentage.
This weekend, the University of North Dakota entertains the Michigan State Spartans. There are a couple of things to look for. Cam Johnson has been standing on his head in the past four games.

UND’s special teams are playing better.
After last weekend’s series against the SCSU Huskies, UND is now ranked 31st nationally on the power play 10/59 (16.9) and ranked 39th nationally on the penalty kill 51/63 (81.0). Finally, the opposition is cashing in on 18.8 percent of their power play opportunities. For those keeping track, that’s an improvement in all three areas.
