Good morning. A week from today, we will have the final two teams for the Frozen Four. In my opinion, this is one of the most exciting times of the year. Honestly, I can’t believe that the 2014-15 season is almost over.
First, none of us are shocked at BU’s Jack Eichel being name to the Hockey Hat Trick. Some already have him penciled in for the winner. I would be shocked if he didn’t win it all.
Apparently, some in Denver are shocked that Joey LaLeggia wasn’t named to the Hobey Hat Trick. Denver’s Joey LaLeggia not a finalist for NCAA hockey top player award.
From the season ending awards department, UNO head coach Dean Blais and UND head coach Dave Hakstol are finalists for the Spencer Penrose Award. It will be interesting to see who ends up getting the award. (Full list of nominees)
For once I can say that I agree with Ryan Lambert of Puck Daddy.
College hockey is achingly provincial, and most people from the West can’t admit that a team from the East might be better than what its own side of the country has on offer. And vice versa.
From the Boston Globe: BU’s Jack Eichel, Harvard’s Jimmy Vesey named Hobey Baker finalists
Eichel, Vesey, McIntyre named Hobey Baker finalists
Well duh! Boston University will have ‘home’ ice for Frozen Four
