Game 7: A Heck of a Story

.

Many people think Super Bowl LI was the greatest Super Bowl of all time. Why? Because the New England Patriots were losing 28-3 in the third quarter and unbelievably came back to win.

During the game, as the Atlanta Falcons continued to put points on the board and a Patriots’ Super Bowl victory appeared less and less likely, Patriots’ receiver Julian Edelman kept telling his teammates, “It’s going to be a [heck] of a story.”

Edelman was right. It is a heck of a story.

And if the Oilers win tonight’s game 7, it’s gonna be one heck of a story. All of the frustration that Oiler fans have endured in this series–the blown calls, the collapse of game 5–will just make the story all the more sweeter.

So let’s win this thing!

Before the season began, no one predicted that the Oilers would get this far. It will sting if they don’t get to the Western Conference Finals, but either way, Oiler fans have to be ecstatic about how this season went.

It looks like Oscar Klefbom will return to the Oilers’ lineup this evening, which probably means either Griffin Reinhart or Eric Gryba will not play. Andrej Sekera is out for the series. The forwards are expected to remain the same.

As for the Ducks, Nate Thompson is banged up and didn’t practice today, though it was reported that he was taking a maintenance day. Kevin Bieksa skated today, but it’s unlikely he’ll play. And Patrick Eaves was spotted on crutches today, so he’s also likely to be out tonight.

Game 6 was Leon Draisaitl’s coming out party. With Draisaitl and Connor McDavid on the top two lines, the Oilers have an extremely lethal one-two punch. Now if only the third line could chip in with a goal or two tonight.

The Ducks have a history of losing gave 7s. Will the Ducks be feeling the pressure tonight? Let’s hope so.

Good to go, Oilers? Good to dough. (Sorry.)

Let’s make it a heck of a story.
