The New York Mets have placed left-hander Oliver Perez on the 15-day disabled list because of patella tendinitis in his right knee (…) Perez arrived at Citi Field on Friday and complained of discomfort in his knee.
Most people that have pain in their knees get it before a rainstorm. Oliver gets it before impending roster moves. Happens to me all the time.
He will begin a rehab stint in Florida and it is not known when he will begin throwing again.
Translated: Oliver Perez will begin throwing again when somebody else signs his paychecks.
The Mets have yet to announce a corresponding roster move.
Instead, the club announced that there will be a “paaaaaaarty ooooooova heeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrre!” And did so while “raising the roof”.*
*Sure, this really happened … why not.
