Today, when the National Hockey League begins the 2017-18 season, there will be three former University of North Dakota hockey players from last season’s team on NHL rosters.
Brock Boeser
First, Brock Boeser has made the Vancouver Canucks out of training camp and will join his former UND teammate, defenseman, Troy Stecher.
Boeser looked like a big-league scoring threat, leading the team in scoring with seven points (4-3-7) in five games. Virtanen was a physical presence while finishing second on the team in points, notching four goals and two assists in six games. (dailyhive.com)

Tyson Jost
Former UND forward Tyson Jost has made the Colorado Avalanche out of training camp. You can check out the Av’s opening day roster here.
UND fan’s favorite NHL beat writer, Mike Chambers had this to say about Jost:
“Jost probably should be in his sophomore season at North Dakota. But the No. 1 prospect for the NHL’s worst team is needed now, and the sky is the limit for the kid who seemingly does everything well.”

Tucker Poolman
After having an operation on each of his shoulders, former UND defenseman Tucker Poolman has made the Winnipeg Jets out of training camp. You can check out the Jets opening day roster here.
“I was excited to find out what was going to happen today,” Poolman told the Winnipeg Sun. “I’m happy about it, for sure. With the summer and the rehab and coming into my first camp, I really didn’t know what to expect. So I just tried to come in every day and compete and try to learn. I’m just going to keep doing that.”
