No Words

Went to see the Nets play at Barclays Center on Friday night. This is pretty much my one NBA game that I go to every four years. The Nets winning on a Joe Johnson buzzer beater in double overtime pretty much ensured that this would be the greatest basketball game I've seen live, ever. Shows you how many basketball games I've been to.

What struck me going there, on Friday of all days, was all the children singing, dancing, waving their thundersticks and chanting BROOK-LYN for the home team. Made me long for my youth. Also made me think of the children who should be singing and dancing in their Connecticut homes on a Friday night.

Those children will remain in our thoughts now and forever. Words other than that are pointless, so no baseball talk right now. There will be plenty of time in the next 24 hours for that, I'm sure. To paraphrase a friend: Yesterday was terrible. May our tomorrows somehow be brighter.
