Numbers Lie

Baltimore 334

Ryota Igarashi lost one game all season, and yet it felt like so much more. His ERA this season was 4.66, and yet it felt like a hundred and three … point six six. Igarashi was actually so bad that the World Series transaction freeze couldn’t save his job as he has been released. Maybe it isn’t going to be official until after the Series. Maybe it’s already official. Maybe Igarashi has already served me a chicken and steak burrito at a local Chipotle’s without me recognizing him. But the bottom line is that he’s just another statistic … another contract freed up for a futile chase to re-sign Jose Reyes.

But Igarashi shouldn’t feel too bad. His “Iggy and Izzy” show lasted longer than the new Charlie’s Angels, The Playboy Club, and H8R … which is disappointing because I was waiting for that episode where I get paired up with Shane Victorino and I have to make it an entire day without setting him on fire. Tell me that’s not good television.
