Back in April, we found out that the Edmonton Oilers would be changing from their royal blue home jersey to the retro orange jersey in time for the 2017-18 NHL season. We heard other details, like the change from royal blue to a darker navy blue, and we saw the teasers released by the Oilers and new jersey provider Adidas in the past week.

Today, after lots of speculation and a weekend leak that sent Oil Country into a frenzy, we have the new Edmonton Oilers Adidas jersey.
Without further ado…..here are the new threads that will be worn at Rogers Place starting this September.

Personally, I like these jerseys a lot more than I thought I would based on the teasers that were being released. I like the shade of orange and the collar is a lot sharper than we were led to believe. The navy blue actually works here, but I do prefer the royal blue.
Overall, I prefer to Reebok orange jersey to the Adidas one, but the new threads have the potential to grow on me. The stripes, collar and navy blue all look better than I thought they would, so I’ll give some credit where due.
Here’s another angle of Edmonton’s newest home jersey.
