The Edmonton Oilers have added a top 4, hopefully top pair defenseman in Andrej Sekera. They also signed a replacement for traded 4th line center Boyd Gordon in Mark Letestu.
The Sekera signing is the big news so far of the day, slated to be on the Oilers top pair for the next 6 years at 5.5million per. A good replacement after the Oilers bungled the Petry situation last season.
In Letestu they’ve got themselves a good option for the 4th line center spot. He can win faceoffs, not as well as Gordon of course, but at only 1.8 million for the next 3 seasons his salary fits in much nicer than the aging Gordon.
