The busy portion of the Oilers off-season is now behind us with the expansion draft, the entry draft and free agency’s opening day all having passed. The Oilers have made a number of moves to set their roster and yesterday added ample depth to set the roster in Bakersfield.
Are the Oilers done? Personally, I don’t think they are, but I don’t think we will see anything happen with the NHL club until the Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl contracts are completed. When that happens is anyone’s guess at this point.

Draisaitl Battle: The Leon Draisaitl negotiations appear to be more stressful than anticipated and a battle could be brewing. Is trading Draisaitl an option for the Oilers? According to GM Peter Chiarelli, not a chance. David Staples of the Cult of Hockey blog has more.
