The Oilers lost last night to the best team in the league. Despite the loss the team is still very much in the playoff race and it is January 4th! As of writing this the mighty Oil are 6th in the Western Conference and 3 points ahead of the dastardly Flames (with the same amount of games played). What a time to be alive!
In our last poll we asked, “what’s more important, upgrading RW, RD, or back up goalie?” The results were pretty balanced between the three choices.
It was somewhat surprising that backup goaltender came ahead of right defence given the troubles on the back-end for what seems to be an eternity. However, given the Monster’s monstrosity of a performance thus far, maybe not. In order to address anyone of these weaknesses on the roster GM Peter Chiarelli will have to be willing to pull the trigger on one or several trades. Likely at, or close to, the trade deadline.
