Oilers win! Oilers win! This is not a drill!
The Chicago Blackhawks rolled into town tonight, and the Oilers played like the 7-2 team from the beginning of the season, and walked away with 2 points and a 5-0 victory.
1st PERIOD:
-Klefbom follows up as McDavid puts on his rocket skates with 17:21 left and wires it into the net:

-Hawks don’t take it lying down and pour on the pressure 5 minutes in
-Larsson with a huge check around 11:30 left to relieve pressure of Hawks forecheck
-Oilers counter with the top line but Hjalmarsson goes down and the refs blow the whistle instantly.
-10:17 left Oilers get a PP, which looks good. Not sure if bad PK, or good puck movement
-PP Can’t get it done though. PASS TO MCDAVID
-Klefbom makes a beauty check with around 7 minutes left, follows it up by creating another chance in the O-zone
-Oilers putting on pressure in the hawks zone. Nice effort by Ebs and Maroon.
-Toews goes off for a hook with 2:20 left in the 1st
-McDavid almost manages to beat the entire Hawks PK, but the puck stays out. Oilers with good pressure and follow it up to take a 2-0 lead with 34 sec left
-Klefbom gets the goal again, with McDavid picking up 2 assists (goal later changed to Draisaitl)

2nd PERIOD:
-Oilers open the period with some nice chances, taking it to the Hawks. Lucic just misses on one of them, Kassian follows up (going to net hard)
-Chicago picks up a powerplay 2 minutes in; Talbot makes a HUGE save with 30 seconds left on the advantage.
-Oilers kill it off but Hawks with great puck movement. Oilers finally get it out and get a change
-Hendo highsticked in the face with 14:30 to go off the draw. Bleeding everywhere but no call
-Oilers being outshot 10-2 with 13 left
-Russell lays Tyler Motte out like it’s his job:

-McDavid gets tripped, no call (5 left):

-Oilers pick up another pp with 2 minutes left off a trip.
-GOAL in the DYING seconds of the 2nd. Sekera through a screen:

3RD PERIOD:
-Oilers doing a nice job of keeping the Hawks out through the first 2 minutes
-Nurse is a beast, choking out the Hawks right at the line
-Perfectly played by the Oilers thus far
-Slepy scores after Puljujarvi gets mauled right in front of the bench:

-Ebs just about scores with just over 3 minutes left. Doesn’t one time it and doesn’t get the lift he wants
-Oilers with a PP to close out the period with a Draisaitl goal.
Final Thoughts
After the dropping a couple games they certainly shouldn’t have, it’s good to see the Oilers getting back on track. Beating the Blackhawks is the first step towards being competitive again. Last season, that 5-game skid might have turned into 10, but with two wins in a row, the Oilers look to be back on track.
