When the Mets and Pirates got rained out on Monday, it was originally thought that there wouldn’t be a doubleheader either tonight or tomorrow. So I checked to see which dates were a possibility. There was this Monday, June 13th, and Monday, August 8th. In the latter case, they would have played the Tigers in Detroit on the 7th, stopped in Pittsburgh on the 8th to make up the rainout, then returned home. I thought that there would have been a chance to take a little road trip. Go to Detroit, hitch a ride to Pittsburgh, and then come home. It would have knocked two of the better ballparks off my bucket list.
