I hope that you’re all doing okay.
Now chances are that if you’re reading this, then you’re doing okay. So to wish all of you guys a speedy recovery from this once in a lifetime weather event (please, let’s stop with the cutesy names like “Frankenstorm” and “Superstorm”) might seem kinda pointless. And it is. Let’s face it, nobody is going to get any comfort from reading any crap that I can come up with. Mainly because I’m not the one to give it. I missed Hurricane Irene. I was in Missouri and Kansas. For Sandy, I was holed up in a Manhattan hotel for two and a half days. And yet, I feel like I missed this one too. I was nowhere near any area that was dangerous, flooded, and most of the time, even windy. So I can’t speak from any great perspective of hardship. The greatest hardship I went through from Sunday-Tuesday was watching the Jets turn football into an optional event. And if that’s anybody’s greatest hardship, they should consider themselves lucky. I certainly do. So if you’re reading this, may luck turn your way. For everybody else, they need more than luck. You can donate here if you wish (or text Red Cross to 90999). To all, my hope is that you stay strong. Though if you do the opposite and freak out because of this crazy storm, who can begrudge you that?
Don’t worry, I’ll go back to complaining about the Mets very soon.
