The Hall of Hate is in full swing. The play-in game has been voted on and it’s time to start the first round with the 8 vs. 9 matchup:
(8) Jerry Manuel vs (9) Brett Myers
Why you should hate Jerry Manuel:
Because I’ve gone over tapes, upon tapes, upon tapes, and I still don’t understand what the f*** he’s been saying. Came in like a gangsta, but ended up arguing with umpires less than Willie Randolph did. Held some sort of petty grudge against Ryan Church starting with insisting on playing Gary Sheffield while Church was on a hot streak, and ending with basically calling him a little wuss. Used comedy as a weapon. Lost a bunch of players to injury, whined about it, and went 18-41 down the stretch in 2009. Now appears on MLB Network in a limited capacity, kind of like how he managed.
Why you should hate Brett Myers:
Hates the Mets, hits his wife, and was once a Phillie … which is reason enough to hate the guy.
