2 – Oilers acquire Reinhart for picks

I winced when I first heard of this deal, and then I calmed myself. I find myself wincing more and more today. One of Peter Chiarelli’s first moves as GM of the Oilers was to acquire Griffin Reinhart, but boy did he ever pay the price. Reinhart is looking more like he’ll never be a top four defenseman while the likes of Mathew Barzal and Joel Eriksson-Ek would be a much more vital part of the franchise going forward. This is Chiarelli’s only transaction on this list, but boy is it ever a big and bad one.
