Week six of The Rig Rant includes the ups and downs of the Oilers as they visited Detroit and Pittsburgh to face the Wings and the Penguins earning a win and a loss. The week wrapped up with the Oilers returning home with a matchup against the Dallas Stars and the best version of Kari Lehtonen that ever lived. A game that was full of excitement, but ultimately ended in a 3-2 loss. Fans have mixed reactions, but some of them are pretty funny.

**DISCLAIMER**

Many of these tweets contain horrible language. We can’t be held responsible if your children read this article and start swearing at your TV (or you).

Let’s get started…

The Oilers met up with the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday…in the afternoon. Sundays have been noticeably terrible for the Oilers and playing in the afternoon?? Also – Cam Talbot needed a bit of a break so it was the return of the monster – Jonas Gustavsson. Oiler fans thoughts? Fuggget about it.

Of course – what would The Rig Rant be without a whole bunch of McDavid love??

Oilers fans have determined that Jordan Eberle would be this year’s whipping boy, but he’s been noticeably snake bitten when it came to putting the puck in the net.

Luckily for the Oilers, they managed to hang on and squeak out a 2-1 win over Detroit.

Even Puljujarvi couldn’t wait to have himself a pizza party after the win.

Mid week – the Oilers met Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in Pittsburgh. According to the media, it was McDavid vs. Crosby but now we’re just splitting hairs.

So it was 1-1 – and then it was all Oilers…for a bit

Seriously though – is there anything that this kid can’t do??

As I mentioned, there’s been quite a bit of trash talking towards Jordan Eberle lately, and we’re fairly certain he’d been reading it because he wound up with 2 goals!

So with a 3-1 lead – it looked like the Oilers had it sewn up – but then – Penguins…

We agree Steve – that pretty much sums up the 4-3 loss. BAH!

On Friday – Remembrance Day, the Oilers set up to play the Stars at home.

The Oilers seemed to be consistently playing catchup to the Stars, but man we didn’t expect it to start 28 seconds in!

There were plenty of ups and downs this game – so we’ll let the tweets speak for themselves.

The Oilers/Stars game was incredibly fast paced and there was a lot going on. Aside from all the hate for Eberle being lazy, there wasn’t much to say.

Bottom line, the Oilers dropped a 2-1 loss to bring their record to 9-5-1, but still holding strong atop the Pacific Division.

Well said Darryl, well said. Oilers fans aren’t fond of watching their team drop 5 of their last 7 games and many believe it was just a strong start and they’ll go back to their first overall picking days soon.

Coming up next week, the Oilers play host to the New York Rangers on Sunday night and then hit the road again to visit California where they meet the Ducks on Tuesday night and the Kings on Thursday night. They’ll wrap up the week on Saturday in Dallas to once again face the Stars. Hopefully THIS time, they’ll be able to get themselves a win!

Last week (and the week before) we were hoping to hit double digits in the win column – it’s got to happen this week right? RIGHT??
