At least the Mets had the decency to lose on Tuesday in 2:42. Monday’s loss took three days to complete. Never did I think witnessing Carlos Torres lose a start would be a pleasure to watch. But the Mets 3-1 loss, which would normally agitate me because the Mets once again can’t score and preserve a very good pitching performance, seemed like being handed a gallon of water in the Sonoran Desert. Then again, Steve Trachsel injecting me with Valley Fever with his off hand would have been preferable to watching a Daisuke Matsuzaka start for the Mets (tapes of which have been sent to hell so Satan’s minions could play it on a loop in the waiting room for orientation).
