Today, the University of North Dakota announced their team’s captain and assistant captains’ for the 2016-17 season.

C — Gage Ausmus
A — Tucker Poolman
A — Johnny Simonson
A — Austin Poganski
A — Brock Boeser
The senior defenseman, Ausmus is one of only a handful of players to be named a two-time captain. The other former UND players that were named two-time captains are as follows: Chay Genoway, Dane Litke, Greg Johnson, Dave Hakstol and Scott Sandelin. What’s more amazing, three of the five leaders are from the Greater Grand Forks Area.
