The University of North Dakota has four incoming freshmen that were drafted in the 2015 NHL Draft. Freshman Brock Boeser became the 18th UND player to be selected in the first round of the NHL Draft. Next season, UND will have two first round draft choices playing in their lineup (Nick Schmaltz, Chicago Blackhawks #20, 2014 NHL Draft, and Brock Boeser #23, 2014 NHL Draft )
Former UND head coach Dave Hakstol‘s team, the Philadelphia Flyers drafted Matej Tomek in the first round of the NHL Draft.

For those that are worrying about Brock Boeser going Major Juniors, I wouldn’t count on it. Per the Grand Forks Herald’s Brad Schlossman:
“I think it’s a great situation for him,” Vancouver general manager Jim Benning of his prospect going to North Dakota. “They have a beautiful facility. They have real good coaches there. For a young player to develop, it’s a great opportunity.
“Brad has been there for a long time. He does a real good job. He’s done a good job developing players over the years, so we’re excited Brock is going into that program.”
Couldn’t be happier to join the @VanCanucks organization! Thanks to everyone for all the support throughout the years!
