As I woke up this morning, one question needed to be answered: Was it only just a dream?
Nope!
The Oilers are finally returning to the playoffs!
How’s that feel, Oiler fans?
It’s been eleven years. What has happened in the world since the Oilers last appeared in the playoffs?
Quite a bit.
– I lost a lot of hair, and my third and fourth children were born.
– Twitter was launched. And much arguing ensued.
– Seven seasons of The Walking Dead aired.
– Barack Obama’s presidency came and went.
– Apple debuted the iPhone.
– Justin Bieber started a YouTube channel.
– The Chicago Cubs won a World Series.
– Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final Harry Potter book, was released.
– “Gangnam Style” went viral.
– “Selfie” became Oxford dictionary’s “Word of the Year.”
– One of the stars of Home Alone 2 was elected U.S. President.
– The world was overtaken by memes and GIFs.
– The Oilers won the Connor McDavid lottery!
#LastTimeOilersMadePlayoffs was trending on Twitter last night. Here’s one of my favourites:

The nightmare was real, but now it’s over. We have awoken to a new day, the day of McDavid. The sun is shining, and I feel fine.
Get ready, Oiler fans.
Next stop: playoffs!
