It’s hard to believe, but Peyton Manning is done with the Indy Colts…
The sigh of relief you just heard came out of the collective airways of many Baltimore Ravens fans, who know one thing for sure:
No matter how good or how vaunted the Ravens’ defense was portrayed to be over the past 14 years, they could never—and I mean NEVER—seem to get inside the head of Peyton Manning. There are two huge playoff losses by the Ravens to the Colts under Manning to illustrate this tragic point.
It is a bitter-sweet day in Baltimore— Ravens fans applaud the end of the Manning era in Indianapolis, but quietly mourn the loss of a great rival, an athlete with a great brain and a huge heart who reminded them a lot of the greatest Colts QB of all, John Unitas…
The move will end one of the most prolific runs in the history of the game. With the Colts, Manning threw 54,828 yards and 399 touchdowns. Manning didn’t miss a game from his rookie season in 1998 through 2010.
Indianapolis will try to move on from the Manning era with Andrew Luck, but you can’t replace a guy like Peyton Manning, regardless of how great his replacement turns out to be.
