It’s almost unbelievable that 49ers receiver Marquise Goodwin played in Sunday’s game against the Giants, given what we learned after the game.
Goodwin took to Instagram after the game to announce the death of his newborn son, and the NFL community got behind him afterward. The post is almost hard to view, as Goodwin posted a photo of his son, with the following caption.
“I just wanna thank those who’ve genuinely prayed for @morganakamomo& myself through out this pregnancy. Unfortunately we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4am. Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan. The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable. Please Pray for the Goodwin family.” he wrote.

Goodwin scored a long touchdown in the game, and pointed to the sky in the end zone afterward.
