Ravens fans brace for another year without former #1 draft pick Breshad Perriman…

i

The “Bust!” comments from the ignorant portion of the Ravens fan base have already begun to crescendo again.

Breshad Perriman has reportedly suffered another devastating blow.

Last year’s first-round pick has a partially torn ACL in his left knee, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jamison Hensley. He reportedly will seek a second opinion on whether he needs surgery.

Perriman missed his entire rookie season because of a partially torn PCL he suffered on the first day of training camp. Last year’s injury occurred in his right knee.

He returned to practice this offseason and has been one of the more impressive players during the team’s organized team activities.

ESPN reported that Perriman is set to visit renowned orthopedic surgeon James Andrews on Monday to get another look at his knee.

If Perriman is sidelined for the season or an extended period, the Ravens will turn to wide receivers Kamar Aiken, Mike Wallace and Chris Moore to “replace” him in the offense.

This is crazy bad luck for Perriman and the Ravens— after all, it was a non-contact incident on both his knee injuries from last year and this one…

Fan poster GRAPPLE RAVEN at BaltimoreRavens.com tried to put the thing into perspective:

“Folks need to put this in its proper perspective: Perriman isn’t at fault here and I am sure he must be absolutely devastated. He injured his right knee in his first year, he lost one of his best friends in Tray Walker, and by his own admission he said he was in “a dark place” after those two events, now his Dad is recuperating from a very debilitating stroke and currently he has sustained an injury to his left knee. I would think a little compassion is due here as I think he has had enough to deal with, without folks taking their frustration out on him. How about a little moral support for the guy? It isn’t his fault. There are other WR’s out there, plus our own. My goodness, c’mon people.”

Well said, GRAPPLE RAVEN.

Silly season stuff like this happens— it is the same kind of injury sequence which sidelined Steve Smith Sr. in his first two seasons with the Carolina Panthers— such perspective is required to be a true Ravens fan.
