Ray Lewis’ comments don’t bother Joe Flacco

Cleveland Browns v Baltimore Ravens

Joe Flacco is unfazed by comments made by Ray Lewis Thursday questioning his desire.

Flacco’s teammate on the Ravens’ 2012 championship team said that while the quarterback is “gifted,” he doesn’t think that he’s “passionate” about football.

“Ray can think what he thinks,” Flacco told Adam Schein on Sirius XM Mad Dog Sports Radio via Pro Football Talk.

Perhaps by not getting fired up about Lewis’ comments, Flacco is proving Lewis right. But Flacco correctly points out that his mellow personality is seen as a good thing when the Ravens win and a bad thing when they lose. Just ask Aaron Rodgers about critics who come out of the woodwork when things aren’t going well.

Things aren’t going well individually for Flacco this season. He’s thrown nine touchdown passes and nine interceptions and his 6.3 yards per attempt is 51st in the league. But the Ravens (5-4) are winning the AFC North. They’ve righted the ship after losing four straight, but they face their biggest test of the season Sunday when they visit the Cowboys (8-1).

Flacco has enough to worry about. He doesn’t have time to get worked up about something said by a player who can’t help him beat the Cowboys Sunday.
