Super Bowl XLVIII has yet to be played, and the 2013 NFL season has not even officially come to a close. But that hasn’t stopped the Washington Redskins from attempting to steal the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos’ thunder.
The team released a hype video on Thursday—a 90-second montage to commemorate over 80 years of history and three Super Bowl wins. The goal was to get fans hyped for the beginning of the Jay Gruden era/2014 season.
But the timing of this video is a bit weird. We’re still six weeks away from the opening of free agency, and six months from training camp kicking off.
The good news is the team can only improve on its 3-win season. The Shanahan era was a colossal failure, and hopefully Gruden will provide the team with a new identity. His West Coast offense should give QB Robert Griffin III an opportunity to thrive.
Hail to the Redskins—making hype videos in the offseason since January 2014!
