The Washington Redskins will be without tight end Jordan Reed for the second consecutive week.
According to the team’s official Twitter account, Reed will miss Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions due to the lingering effects of a concussion he suffered during Washington’s win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.

Reed, 26, remains in concussion protocol. He has suffered at least five concussions since the start of his college football career, including three in the NFL, according to John Keim of ESPN.
Reed said this week he hid his concussion symptoms against the Ravens.
“I kind of kept it to myself,” Reed said. “I had a pretty bad headache. I was feeling it throughout the game and kept playing. The next day I was feeling all right, and then there were some exercises I started doing and I started to feel a little worse.”
Reed missed six games in previous years to concussions. He’ll miss his second straight game on Sunday, bringing his career total to eight games. It is unknown if Reed will be able to return to practice or play next week. The Redskins have a bye in Week 9.
Over his first five games in 2016, Reed caught 33 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns. He broke out as a receiving force last season, when he produced 87 receptions, 952 yards and 11 scores during a Pro Bowl campaign.
The Redskins also announced first-round receiver Josh Doctson was placed on injured reserve.
