Chris Harris Jr. is one of the best players in the NFL, and yet he doesn’t get the attention that other players do. Take the NFL Top 100, for instance. Harris got snubbed in 2014 despite leading the league in least passing yards allowed and not giving up a touchdown pass all season long.
The Pro Bowl cornerback has gotten the attention of ESPN Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden, though.
“Chris Harris is the most underrated player in the league. He and [Aqib] Talib are a great duo,” Gruden said, via The Denver Post on Friday. “There’s a commitment to playing sticky, bump-and-run man coverage out there. And it’s worked out great.”
A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Harris went undrafted in 2011. He became a full-time starter in 2012, and he is a big reason the Denver Broncos rank near the top in pass defense almost every year.
The Broncos host the Houston Texans on Monday night, pitting Harris against talented fourth-year receiver DeAndre Hopkins. If you need more convincing that Harris is a top player in the NFL, watch him on Monday night and see for yourself.
