A player touching a referee in the NFL is a huge deal.
It apparently doesn’t work the other way around—just ask Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Diggs found himself hanging around a scuffle when a referee seemed to take something he said or did rather personally:

Get. Out. RT @CauldronICYMI Official moves Stefon Diggs all the way out of the scrum with the quickness https://t.co/YbZ1yL05vo

The reaction was hilarious:
I'm sure there will be the same outrage over that ref pushing Stefon Diggs as there is when a player taps an official.

Hey @BR_DougFarrar how do I account for Stefon Diggs getting trucked by a ref in the #NFL1000 this week?

Referees have to clear piles and make sure players don’t get hurt, but this official’s going all WWE on Diggs seemed a bit unnecessary.
Wait around to see if the league says anything about it. Just don’t expect much.
