He suffered a Grade 3 shoulder separation last Thursday against the Dallas Cowboys, but finished the game with 10 catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns despite the injury.
This will be Reed’s third missed game this season. He also missed Week 6 to 7 because of a concussion. The fourth-year tight end has become the favorite target of quarterback Kirk Cousins. He leads the team in targets with 79. In nine games this year, Reed has caught 59 passes for 630 yards and five touchdowns.
Vernon Davis is expected to fill in at tight end with Reed out Sunday. The former two-time Pro Bowl selection totaled eight catches for 829 yards and a touchdown in the two games that Reed missed earlier this season.
The Redskins have the league’s second-ranked passing offense, which is averaging 315 yards through the air. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have the league’s second-ranked pass defense, which is holding teams to 195 yards on average.
