The Philadelphia Eagles might try to bring back old friend DeSean Jackson this offseason.
Jackson has spent his last three years in Washington, with the past two coming in at rather disappointing totals. With Washington needing to find the cash to keep other big names, Jackson could easily slip to market and have his choice of landing spots.
Philadelphia might be there to catch him.
ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter shared the report:
Multiple teams believe Jackson, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, could return to Philadelphia. The Eagles would benefit from the addition of a speedy deep threat, and Jackson and Eagles coach Doug Pederson are big admirers of each other, sources said.
A reunion makes plenty of sense for the Eagles, who have had one of the worst wideout corps in the league this year and need to surround impressive rookie Carson Wentz with more talent. Even a the age of 30, Jackson would return and likely act as the No. 1 wideout.
Jackson couldn’t have many complaints with a reunion either. He spent six years there and went for more than 1,000 receiving yards four times, scoring as many as nine touchdowns in a season to boot.
Call it a smart move for all sides, should it happen. Washington might want to find a way to keep Jackson, but a tag with already limited funds seems unlikely.
