Could a case of the rich getting richer actually involve the Lions?
This historically downtrodden franchise has a two-game lead in the NFC North and hasn’t allowed more than 19 points during its four-game winning streak. The Lions (8-4) have improved to 10th in the NFL in points allowed, and according to Pro Football Talk that defense is expected to have DeAndre Levy on the field for the first time since Week 1.
The linebacker made 121 tackles, broke up five passes and registered 2.5 sacks in 2014, helping the Lions get to the playoffs. But he’s battled injuries since then and has played in just one game in each of the last two seasons.
Levy doesn’t have to hit the ground running if he returns for Sunday’s home game against the Bears. But if he slowly regains his footing and comes anywhere near his 2014 form, he could help the Lions earn their first playoff win since 1991.
