Darius Slay got beat for a TD on ‘the weakest move I ever seen in my life’

Philadelphia Eagles v Detroit Lions

It’s not often that Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay gives up a touchdown, but he did in Sunday’s 20-17 win over the Chicago Bears.

Second-year wide receiver Cameron Meredith beat Slay for a 30-yard touchdown in the third quarter on what Slay called “the weakest move I ever seen in my life.”

“But it worked for him though, so it’s just weak compared to me,” Slay said, via Dave Birkett the Detroit Free Press. “It worked for him. I was surprised. I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness. Man, he’s running a double. Oh, this is the weakest double move I’ve ever seen in my life.’ But great throw by (Barkley), great catch and great finish. He made the play, and this is game you just make plays.”

Here is video of the touchdown by Meredith, the only completion Slay allowed in man coverage all game, Birkett points out.

On Sunday, Slay will match up against New York Giants star Odell Beckham Jr., and he doesn’t have any weak moves. Slay can’t afford to make the same mistake he did against a lower-quality receiver last Sunday.
