Adam Jones calls out Terrelle Pryor, says he’s ‘just a guy’

New York Jets v Cleveland Browns

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones doesn’t care for Cleveland Browns breakout wideout Terrelle Pryor.

Pryor has been one of the season’s best surprises, catching 62 passes for 855 yards and four touchdowns while dealing with dire circumstances around him.

Jones isn’t impressed. He let it rip in an interview with Cincinnati.com’s Jim Owczarski:

“He pushes off, every route. He’s an OK receiver,” Jones said. “They do feature him a little bit so he does get more looks than a guy who would be in his situation. He’s just a guy to me.”

“He can’t push at the top of a route, so you’ve just got to be in good position,” Jones said of how to defend Pryor. “We played him last game and he didn’t do (expletive).”

On one hand, Jones isn’t wrong. When the two teams met earlier this year, a 31-17 Cincinnati win, Pryor only caught two passes for 18 yards.

Then again, Pryor had a combo of Kevin Hogan and Cody Kessler playing quarterback.

Either way, Jones’ statements don’t tarnish the season Pryor has had and they give the Browns some bulletin-board material as the team looks for its first win.

If Pryor manages to help the Browns pull off the upset, he’ll be the one doing the talking after the game.
