Clemson took previously-undefeated Notre Dame to the woodshed in Saturday’s College Football Playoff semifinal game at AT&T Stadium on Saturday.
The Tigers showed they were in a class above the Fighting Irish from the getgo, controlling the clock and the trenches, and holding their opponents scoreless for the final three-and-a-half quarters.
Clemson outgained Notre Dame 538-248 in total yards, and, most importantly, they kept their opponents out of the end zone — an extremely impressive feat for a game of that magnitude.

The Tigers shut down the Fighting Irish’s running game, holding them to only 88 yards. Clemson defensive tackle Albert Huggins was a big part of that. He stepped in and filled the void left by suspended star DT Dexter Lawrence in a big way, and he spoke to TSD’s Kendrick E. Johnson in an exclusive interview after the game — putting the 30-3 victory in perspective.
