Arian Foster announces his retirement

Miami Dolphins v New England Patriots

At 30 years of age, Miami Dolphins running back Arian Foster has sustained a lot of injuries throughout the course of his career, as many running backs do. He also has the rest of his life ahead of him, and he probably wants to preserve that.

Still, it was quite shocking when Foster renounced his retirement on Monday evening, which he did through Bleacher Report’s Uninterrupted.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up with some details as to why Foster retired.

Foster entered the league in 2009, and racked up 6,527 yards and produced 54 touchdowns during that time. He also caught 255 passes, and was the prototypical all-purpose running back.
