Ben McAdoo OK with Odell Beckham Jr.’s sideline smile

New York Giants v Pittsburgh Steelers

Giants coach Ben McAdoo didn’t have a problem with Odell Beckham Jr.’s smile after Antonio Brown caught a touchdown pass during the Giants’ 24-14 loss in Pittsburgh Sunday.

Brown caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger with 7:10 left in the first half, giving the Steelers an 11-0 lead, and the camera caught Beckham smiling on the sideline.

That might have rubbed some Giants fans the wrong way, but not McAdoo.

“Odell, the reaction that I saw from the TV copy, to me was, ‘Hey, he made his play and now let’s go make ours,'” McAdoo told The New York Post via NFL.com.

Beckham and Brown hung out together the night before the game.

It’s understandable to wonder if Beckham is more loyal to the fraternity of wide receivers than to his own team. But he did lead his team with 10 catches for 100 yards.

And it’s not like the Giants were penalized for Beckham’s smile and there was no harm to any sideline equipment.
