It’s safe to assume that the Seahawks are excited about running back C.J. Prosise.
First, they released Christine Michael. Then wide receiver Doug Baldwin name-dropped Arian Foster and Matt Forte when asked if Prosise reminds him of any particular running backs.
“He reminds me a little bit of Arian Foster, just with his ability to make plays outside of the box and in the passing game,” Baldwin told ESPN.com. “Similar to Matt Forte as well.”
A rookie drafted in the third round, the 6’1″, 220-pound Prosise had a breakout game in Sunday night’s 31-24 win at New England. He ran 17 times for 66 yards and caught all seven passes thrown his way for 87 yards.
Thomas Rawls will return Sunday when the Seahawks host the Eagles, but he could be eased back into the rotation after being out since September with a leg injury. That would give Prosise a chance to earn a permanent share of carries in the Seahawks’ backfield.
