Everyone assumed that we wouldn’t see Chris Berman on TV anymore, now that the former ESPN sports commentator is retired.
But they were wrong.
Berman was seen on the UMass sideline during Saturday’s game against Tennessee, and he was dressed as an assistant coach in Minutemen gear.

We’re not really sure what his duties for being named a “special assistant coach” entailed, but it’s a well-known fact that he’s close friends with Umass head honcho Mark Whipple, so that’s probably why he was there.
