Alabama came out swinging right out of the gate in the national championship game on Monday night, but that played right into Clemson’s hands.
On Alabama’s first drive of the game, after running only a few plays, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw what looked to be a quick out route, but Clemson cornerback AJ Terrell had clearly seen it on film before, and he was ready for it.
Terrell jumped the route and he was off to the races. He would not be stopped, and the end result was a 44-yard interception for a touchdown to open the scoring in the game.
