The Cotton Bowl wasn’t much of a game, as Clemson was so much better than Notre Dame that they dominated the contest from start to finish — punching their ticket to the national championship game without really even breaking a sweat in the 30-3 victory.
Notre Dame ever even scored a touchdown in the game — in fact, they were shut out for the final three-and-a-half quarters. Clemson, meanwhile, did whatever they wanted on offense — averaging 5.7 yards per rush, and 8.0 yards per pass.
